"Payback With A Bite"
Now here's some news that may leave a bite. Former King Of Mycenae, Atreus, was married to the Queen. Though what Atreus didn't know was that the Queen was secretly in love with Atreus' brother, Thyestes. One day, Atreus found a lamb with golden skin and he killed the lamb, locking it's skin in a box. Thyestes made a bet with Atreus, telling him that whoever owned the golden lamb skin was King. Atreus knew that he had the golden lamb skin so he agreed. Soon enough, Thyestes told the Queen to steal the golden lamb skin for him and so she did.
With Thyestes King, Atreus was furious. Atreus marched up to Zeus, complaining to him about what had happen. Zeus told Atreus to make a bet with Thyestes saying that Atreus could be King again if the sun ran backwards. Thyestes thought Atreus was crazy, so he agreed to the bet. Since Zeus was a God, he could do anything, and sure enough Zeus made the sun run backwards. Atreus took his place back as King and banished Thyestes from his Kingdom.
Still mad at Thyestes and his wife for what they did, Atreus decided to act friendly toward them and invite them and their two sons to a dinner. When Thyestes and his family arrived at the palace, Atreus told Thyestes sons to go play in the yard while the grown-ups chatted. When dinner came out, the slaves took the cover off the dish. Thyestes was horrified to see his two sons served on a silver platter. Thyestes ran out of the palace, never to see his brother again for what he did.
Cannibalism has been one of the biggest sins in Greek times. Former king, Tantalus, wanted to test the God's power of observation. Tantalus chopped up his son, Pelops, and fed him to the Gods. Tantalus didn't think the Gods would notice that they were going to eat a mortal. Just in time, the Gods realized what Tantalus had done. Punishing Tantalus, the Gods sentence him to a life in the underworld, to be withheld from food and water forever.
