"Knucklebones"

'Knucklebones', or astragaloi, is a popular game for humans nowadays. The way women play this game is they throw all five pieces into the air, then they try to catch all five pieces on the back of their hand. The Knucklebone game pieces are usually made from the knuckbones of goats or sheep and had two long sides and two short sides to each piece.
Women who play knucklebones are usually looked upon as placing herself in the hands of fate. By playing Knucklebones, women are thought to be entrusting themselves to the God, Aphrodite.
Men on the other hand play the game a bit different. For men, each side represents a certain number and they would be added up each time they threw the knuckbone pieces. Men use four pieces instead of five. When they throw the pieces, it was the side that faced down that is counted to their score. They throw them on a table about thirty-five times or so and, keeping track of their scores, the man with the most 'points' wins the knucklebone game.
